Good Evening Monks,
As I'm sure you're all aware, SJC has implemented our "Study-In-Place" program as a precaution to stop viral transmission and eventually return to Level 1 status and “normal” campus life. During this time of temporary movement to learning from your residence halls or home the Student Engagement and Residential Living Office has made some temporary adjustments to residence hall policies that we would like you to be aware of. These temporary changes are designed to contain any possible spread of infection across campus.
Beginning at 8pm on Monday, September 14, the follow policy changes are in place:
- Residence Halls will only be accessible to those individuals who reside in that particular building and essential college staff members(Campus Safety, Residential Living Staff, Housekeeping, Facilities, Health & Wellness staff, etc.). Resident students looking to visit students from other residence halls should do so outside using safe social distancing practices.
- All residential common spaces will be temporarily closed. This will include common rooms, lounges, and kitchen areas. Hallways will remain open for movement but we ask that students do not congregate in those spaces.
- All other COVID related policies are still in place including: SJC Mask Policy, Social Distancing Guidelines and room capacity limits. These policies in addition to the Saint Joseph's College Student Code of Conduct are in place both on and off-campus. Failure to comply will result in going through the College's conduct process.
- Per the Community COVID update sent earlier this evening, off-campus travel will be restricted to essential travel only. Please refer to that communication for more information on what is considered essential travel. Those leaving campus for essential travel must submit and present this form when leaving campus. The form, when completed will send a summary to your provided email address. You may show a digital copy on your phone or a printed copy if you prefer.
Our campus is a special place thanks to our community. Our community following these important safety guidelines will keep it special. Thank you for all of your help and cooperation during this time.
