On September 13, 2014, the 12th class was inducted into the College’s Athletics Hall of Fame. This ceremony also celebrated another milestone in the College’s history: the unveiling of the new Athletics Hall of Fame Room on the second floor of the Harold Alfond Center.
The room features beautiful woodwork, designed and constructed by Windham Millworks, individual plaques for each Hall of Fame inductee, and memorabilia cases displaying various significant items from past Athletics achievements.
The introduction of the Athletics Hall of Fame Room included addresses from Athletics Director Brian Curtin and President Jim Dlugos, and the invocation was delivered by 2001 Hall of Fame inductee Carol Lachance ’84, RSM.
With the addition of the 2014 class, which consists of Mary Gill Herrick ’02 (women’s soccer), Jamie Header ’93 (men’s basketball), Pat Lessard ’00 (baseball), Joe and Joan Pappalardo (special induction), and Sarah Webster ’02 (softball), the Athletics Hall of Fame membership grows to a total of 74 accomplished individuals and teams.
The Hall of Fame Room, which is open to the public, was made possible by numerous contributions from friends and alumni of Saint Joseph’s College. A complete list of donors can be found on display in the room, as well as online at bit.ly/SJCHoF2014.
