Jennifer was raised in upstate New York where she attended the Glens Falls Hospital School of Radiology and received certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. She received her undergraduate degree from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 1984. She taught at the Mercy Hospital School of Radiology in Portland, Maine, for two years. She became extremely interested in an upcoming field in Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and in 1986, received advanced training in MRI. In 1989, Maine Medical Center acquired their first MRI scanner and Jennifer was hired as the Chief Technologist. She went on to manage the MRI Department for 29 years. She was among the first group of technologists to receive advanced certification in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and obtained the first certification, in Maine, by the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety. In 2019, Jennifer was promoted to the Clinical Manager for all of Radiology at Maine Medical Center.
While at SJC for her undergraduate degree, Jennifer met her husband, Leonard, a 1983 graduate of SJC. They were married in the chapel in the Heffernan Center in the summer of 1983. Len is a physician assistant in Cardiology and they have both dedicated their careers to health care. Together they enjoy three adult children and four grandchildren. They reside in Gray, Maine.
Last November, while enrolled in the SJC online graduate program, Jennifer was promoted to Director of Clinical Radiology at Maine Medical Center where, upon graduation, she will apply the vast knowledge she has obtained through the Master of Health Administration program.
