CERTIFICATE TO DEGREE PROGRAM
Methodist University Hospital - School of Radiologic Sciences and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine have joined together to help students interested in becoming radiologic technologists reach their goals. Two pathways between the institutions have been created and formalized through a transfer agreement. One pathway results in the student earning their Associate degree - the other will result in a Bachelor's. Students should review the two pathways via the transfer maps linked below.
Students who need prerequisite courses for consideration for entry to Methodist University Hospital's program may begin in a degree program with Saint Joseph's College and take those prerequisites as part of their degree. This is outlined in the transfer maps linked on this page. Students in this situation are highly encouraged to complete the Associate degree pathway first. Students are always welcome to complete their Associate degree initially, and then return to finish their Bachelor's.
Transfer maps should be referenced by the student as they work with their admissions counselor, and eventually, their advisor, each time they enroll in classes. Students in need of prerequisite courses should be aware that Methodist University Hospital requires all prerequisite courses to be completed with a C or better. Students are responsible for planning for and participating in the Methodist University Hospital admissions process at the time at which they are eligible to apply.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This transfer agreement and the following of the associated transfer maps do not guarantee entry into Methodist University Hospital's radiologic science program. Additional considerations are made by Methodist University Hospital when reviewing applicants for acceptance that are outside the scope of the student's college education that may impact acceptance to the program, and spaces are limited. Applications to Methodist University Hospital's program are accepted from December 1st to March 1st each year. Classes then begin at the end of May each year. SJC students must have all prerequisites completed in order to apply to Methodist University Hospital, and must be done with SJC by the end of May so that there is no overlap in classes. Students who are not admitted into Methodist University Hospital are welcome to speak with their advisor about alternative program options at Saint Joseph's College, as no degree in Radiologic Science Administration can be awarded from SJC without the technical training in radiography having been completed elsewhere in a JRCERT accredited program and transferred in.
