CERTIFICATE TO DEGREE PROGRAM

Grady Health System and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine (SJC) have joined together to help current and aspiring radiologic technologists and diagnostic medical sonographers reach their goals. Pathways for degree attainment have been created and formalized through a transfer agreement between these institutions.

Grady Health School of Radiologic Technology & SJC

Two pathways to degree completion have been created for graduates and aspiring students of Grady Health System’s School of Radiologic Technology. One pathway results in the student earning their Associate degree - the other will result in a Bachelor's. Students should review the two pathways via the transfer maps linked below.

Students who need prerequisite courses for consideration for entry to Grady Health's radiology program may begin in a degree program with Saint Joseph's College and take those prerequisites as part of their degree. This is outlined in the transfer maps linked on this page. Students in this situation are highly encouraged to complete the Associate degree pathway first. Students are always welcome to complete their Associate degree initially, and then return to finish their Bachelor's.

Students in need of prerequisite courses should be aware that Grady Health System’s School of Radiologic Technology requires all prerequisite courses to be completed with a C or better. Applications to Grady Health System’s School of Radiologic Technology program are due on March 1st each year. Classes then begin in August of each year. SJC students must have all prerequisites completed by May of the application year in order to apply to Grady Health System’s School of Radiologic Technology. Students who are not admitted into Grady Health System’s radiology program are welcome to speak with their advisor about alternative program options at Saint Joseph's College, as no degree in Radiologic Science Administration can be awarded from SJC without the technical training in radiography having been completed elsewhere in a JRCERT-accredited program and transferred in.

Grady Health School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography & SJC

Graduates of Grady Health’s School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography may apply to Saint Joseph’s College and receive transfer credit for their technical training as general electives within SJC’s various online undergraduate degree programs. Those pursuing entry to Grady Health's School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography can begin their degree with SJC prior to enrolling at Grady Health, however, additional pre-requisite courses are required for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that are not offered through SJC Online. For confirmation of your individual requirements for entry into Grady Health's DMS program, please contact Grady Health directly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This transfer agreement and the following of the associated transfer maps do not guarantee entry into Grady Health System’s programs. Additional considerations are made by Grady Health when reviewing applicants for acceptance that are outside the scope of the student's college education that may impact acceptance to the program, and spaces are limited. In addition, transfer maps should be referenced by the student as they work with their admissions counselor, and eventually, their advisor, each time they enroll in classes. Students are responsible for planning for and participating in the Grady Health System’s admissions process at the time at which they are eligible to apply. Saint Joseph’s College cannot be held responsible for ensuring prospective Grady Health students are following Grady Health’s admissions requirements and application deadlines.
