I need a convenient program - traditional fall and spring semesters just do not work for me.
SJC’s Online Theology program offers multiple start dates per year. At the undergraduate level, courses are offered five times per year with start dates in January, March, May, Late July/Early August, and October. At the graduate level, courses run four terms per year with start dates every January, April, July, and October. I need an affordable program.
We understand, and we will continue to do everything possible to keep our tuition affordable to you. SJC’s Online Theology programs have transparent and affordable pricing (with no hidden fees!), and we offer the lowest graduate tuition of any online Catholic theology program. We also form partnerships with dioceses and other entities to offer up to a 15% tuition savings to their members and employees. Contact an admissions counselor today to see if your employer or member organization is on our partner list.
I have a bachelor’s degree in another discipline and do not want to waste time earning another undergraduate degree.
Admission to the graduate program requires any bachelor’s degree with a minimum earned grade point average of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0). You do not need a bachelor’s degree in theology to start the Master’s program.
I am not sure if I can commit to a whole degree, but would like to take some classes.
As a Catholic college, we offer a plethora of options from continuing education to certificates to degrees to post-graduate programs. All credits earned have the possibility of being applied toward a degree at a later time if you elect to pursue one at the same level. You can start with one course, then take another, then another. Before you know it you’ve earned a certificate, which turns into a degree, which continues on to post-graduate work. You can take one step at a time and discern along the way.
I am looking for a theology program that will teach me the Catholic faith for what it is, without any liberal or conservative agenda.
SJC’s Online Theology programs aim to present the Catholic faith as it has been handed down for centuries. All faculty have received the mandatum to teach the faith from the local bishop of the Diocese of Portland. We hold that effective ministry requires a solid theological foundation, grounded in solid Catholic doctrine, with a deep spiritual and pastoral orientation.
