Learn how to successfully navigate the field of pharmaceutical medicine with Saint Joseph’s Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology, Pre-Pharmacy Track.

Pre-Pharmacy

Prepare for future graduate and professional work in the field of pharmacy. Students majoring in the Pre-Pharmacy Track will work one-on-one with a faculty advisor allowing students to carefully craft their course selections, participate in field experiences and internships, and conduct discipline-specific research in their senior capstone course. Our students graduate with the capacity to integrate new and pre-existing knowledge, keenly observe the world around them, and exhibit self-discipline and critical thinking skills.

Partnership with University of New England’s College of Pharmacy (4 + 4 Program) provides qualified SJC Medical Biology students with a path to admission to UNE’s College of Pharmacy. UNE College of Pharmacy guarantees all qualified SJC students an on-site interview for the Pharmacy Program.

Alumni Success

Dr. Jean De Dieu Ndayishimiye '19, PharmD

Post-Doctoral Fellow, Pharmacogenomics at University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine

Dr Jean De Dieu Ndayishimiye, PharmD“Deciding to attend Saint Joseph's College and complete my undergrad course work through the Medical Biology/Pre-pharmacy program was the most important and significant choice of my life. The program gifted me with an incredible foundation that set me up for success later in pharmacy school. I was presented with numerous opportunities to enhance my critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as my overall science knowledge through captivating and challenging classes, engaging in interesting lab experiments, and research projects on some of the most common OTC pain medications. Most importantly the support I received throughout my journey from all my advisors and professors was invaluable. Whether it would be professors staying beyond their office hours to answer my questions or help me with my pharmacy school applications. Everyone was eager to help me and see me succeed. Due to the program, I remained competitive and was later admitted to multiple pharmacy schools. The program certainly helped me get to where I am today, as a pharmacist completing a fellowship with Upenn School of Medicine.”
