After graduation, Aaron Perkins joined the firm that is now known as Milliken, Perkins & Co, and became a certified public accountant in 1988. He has been an adjunct professor at the College since 2001 teaching accounting and tax courses at the undergraduate level. He has co-authored several published articles that appeared in local periodicals throughout the Northeast. In 2010, he began facilitating online graduate classes and has authored one course.
He is past president and an active member of the Maine Association of Professional Accountants.
