About Nursing at Saint Joseph's College of Maine
The Saint Joseph’s College of Maine nursing program has achieved the highest–100%–pass rate of licensing exams for students in a BSN nursing program in the State of Maine. For calendar year 2018, SJC nursing graduates achieved a 100 percent pass rate of NCLEX. The nursing program has enjoyed dramatic improvement in pass rates under the new leadership of Dr. Anthony McGuire, PhD, CCRN-K, ACNP-BC, FAHA. Since arriving in 2016, Dr. McGuire restructured the College’s nursing programs and elevated the level of workforce preparedness of its nursing graduates.
Saint Joseph’s College of Maine offers: an on-campus BSN, an online RN to BSN, an RN to MSN Fast Track, online graduate programs for FNP, nursing administration, nursing education, and two dual degrees for MSN/MBA and MSN/MHA. In August 2018, Saint Joseph’s College also launched Maine’s first Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program (MSN and post-master’s certificate).
The nursing program intersects with other strong academic programs related to public health at Saint Joseph’s College including: sciences, wellness, and exercise science.
A campaign is currently raising funds for the creation of the new Center for Nursing Innovation at Saint Joseph’s College.
