| Residential Life
The residence life program embraces the principles and values expressed in the mission of the College. The Residential Life team is dedicated to providing safe, clean and affordable housing, as well as a residence hall experience that includes a supportive and respectful community. Students who live on campus find that the residence hall life encourages them to grow inside, as well as outside the classroom. Student input in decisions is welcome. The general guidelines and standards associated with living in the halls are explained in detail in the student handbook. All students are expected to know these guidelines and abide by them. The Residential Life team is formed by the Associate Dean of Students, three Area Coordinators, and 33 Resident Advisors. The Area Coordinators are responsible for certain residential areas of campus. They live in the residence halls and supervise the Resident Advisors in those halls. A Resident Advisor (RA) is normally a junior or senior chosen during the previous spring for this role. The RA helps students develop in personal and academic areas. The RA is trained in listening and helping skills and assisting students in self-governance, programming, community functions, locating campus resources, housing procedures and mutual respect for others. Students are encouraged to get to know their RA and to help create a positive living/learning environment. Residence Life staff
