STANDISH, ME – Four Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball players have received 2009 team awards. Meghan Daigle ’10 (Grantham, NH) is the Most Valuable Player, Ashley Geel ’12 (St. George, ME) has been named as the Most Improved Player, the Defensive Player of the Year is Kayla Boston ’11 (North Berwick, ME) and Megan McDevitt ’12 (Cumberland, ME) has been recognized for having the Most Team Spirit. 4/21/09 – Reardon Steps Down as Women’s Basketball Coach
STANDISH, ME – Deb Reardon, Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Saint Joseph’s College for the last five seasons, has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
Reardon posted a 65-65 record in five seasons at the helm for the Lady Monks and helped guide the team to two playoff appearances in as many years as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The search for Reardon’s successor will begin in the coming weeks.

SJC forward Meghan Daigle '10 (Grantham, NH) has been voted to the Second Team and guard Carolyn Freeman '10 (Scarborough, ME/McAuley) received Third Team honors. Allison Miner '10 (Pembroke, NH) is the Lady Monks' All-Sportsmanship Team recipient, as selected by her teammates. Read more
2/24/09 - St. Joe's Falls to Emmanuel in Quarterfinal, 71-52
BOSTON, MA - Top seed Emmanuel College (19-7, 11-1 GNAC) defeated Saint Joseph's (13-13 6-6), 71-52, in a GNAC Quarterfinal contest on Tuesday evening to advance to the semifinal round. Ashley Geel '12 (St. George, ME) posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards and Meghan Daigle '10 (Grantham, NH) netted 13 in the loss, which ends the SJC playoff run. Read more
2/21/09 - Lady Monks Clinch Playoff Berth with Win Over Lasell
STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's (13-12, 6-6 GNAC) defeated Lasell College (7-18, 4-6) 63-44 on Saturday afternoon at the Alfond Center to secure the #8 seed in the GNAC tournament. Four SJC players registered more than 10 points and Ashley Geel '12 (St. George, ME) recorded nine blocked shots to go with 13 points and seven caroms in the win. Read more
