The major in Communications with Journalism concentration studies the role and functions of the mass media. The major equips students with the skills needed for careers in the mass media communications. Students learn to gather and assess information, write for, edit, and design publications. Practical experience is provided at the student newspaper, service learning projects, and professional internships. The Bachelor of Arts major in Communications with Journalism concentration includes two semesters of foreign language study.

Journalism Minor
A minor in journalism is available and requires students to take 20 credit hours.
